Dimitri Payet reckons the form that he has shown playing in Hammers’ jersey in the English top flight this season; it’s not justifiable on the part of the France boss Didier Deschamps to consistently overlook him.

According to Payet, he is not able to figure out the reason why he has not been given the opportunity to represent the Les Blues post June.

Speaking to a reporter the other day, Payet said, “I think for the last 12-15 months, my form’s been as good as ever, but, still I have not found myself playing for France that often which is surprising. I wonder why? What else a player has to do other than to perform well to earn a call up to his national side. I have heard some sections of the media talking about the fact that I am not liked, but, that can’t be the reason. You make the selections on the basis of the form and abilities of a player.”

“And, as far as the attitude is concerned, anyone, who has worked alongside me so far in my career, would tell you that I haven’t ever crossed the line in terms of discipline. So, the fact that I am not getting selected at this point of time is nothing, but, a case of injustice and it’s extremely disappointing for me.”

Payet, the 28-year old attacking playmaker, signed for West Ham in June this year parting ways with Olympique de Marseille after an association of 2 years.

In a very short period of time, he has managed to establish himself as a key player for the East Londoners and has played big roles in quite a few of their wins. He’s already had 4 strikes to his name in the Premier League.
