David Ngog Biography from contacttheplayers.com
David Ngog is an attacker for Liverpool in the English Premier League. Though he has mainly been played as a right-winger when he has come on at Liverpool, he is a striker in the Nicolas Anelka mould. His electric pace and his clinical finishing ability have made him one of the most prolific strikers in all of France’s national youth teams, and he is expected to make a big impression over the coming years.
Having watched Ngog progress from gangly teenager to a Championnat performer, Rafa Benitez’s scouts identified David as a player of some potential. After discussions with Gerard Houllier (the manager of the French Academy teams), Liverpool put a bid of £1.5m in for David, who arrived on the British isles on July 24th 2008.
His early performances have been promising, and he is currently happy to be learning all he can from Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt.
David Ngog has been prolific at all France youth-team levels, ever since bursting onto the scene as a talented but raw 15 year old. Success in various tournaments as he has gown up has got Ngog used to that winning feeling, whilst he has been in the thick of it with an impressive 20 goals in 30 youth-team performances.
